Bylaws and Policies
Bylaws are laws created by Improvement District 9 generally under the authority of the Municipal Government Act (Alberta). To pass bylaws, Council must give them three readings (three separate approvals) at Council meetings. The public is encouraged to provide input. PUBLIC NOTICE
PROPOSED BORROWING BYLAW NO. 2026-02
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Improvement District No. 9 (Banff) has given first reading to Borrowing Bylaw No. 2026-02 pursuant to the Municipal Government Act.
The purpose of the proposed Borrowing Bylaw is to authorize the Improvement District No. 9 to incur indebtedness in the principal amount of $3,000,000 for the purpose of the Fire Hall and Multi-Unit Residential Projects.
A copy of the proposed Borrowing Bylaw may be inspected during regular business hours at the Improvement District No. 9 Administration Office, 103 Village Road, Lake Louise, or online HERE.
In accordance with Section 231 of the Municipal Government Act, electors of Improvement District No. 9 have the right to petition for a vote of the electors on the proposed borrowing bylaw. A petition must be received by the Chief Administrative Officer and must meet the requirements of the Municipal Government Act.
Unless a sufficient petition is received, the Council may proceed with second and third readings of the Borrowing Bylaw.
